Where It All Started
Dr. Trina Bailey grew up in Newfoundland and Labrador with a passion for animals and a love for her province. After leaving home to become a board-certified veterinary surgeon, she would often travel to St. John’s and Corner Brook, supporting local veterinary practices by offering advanced surgical care to their patients.
Before the Veterinary Speciality Centre of Newfoundland & Labrador opened its doors, pet owners from the province seeking advanced medical care and services for their pet would often have to travel outside of the province. Along with time, financial impacts, and often critical pets who were too ill to travel, for many this was not possible. Knowing the need for advanced veterinary care, Dr. Bailey and her family permanently relocated back home to open the Veterinary Specialty Centre of Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Veterinary Specialty Centre is a St. John's animal hospital that acts as an extension of your primary care veterinarian’s ability to provide advanced, quality care. As the founder and managing director, Dr. Bailey is very proud to be part of the team bringing these services to the pets and people of her home province.
Driven by an increasing case load, we continue to expand our specialties, medical and support teams, equipment, and space to better serve the needs of our patients, their owners, and their primary care veterinarians.
