The Triad of Care
A triad of care consists of the primary care veterinarian, owner, and VSCNL who work together for the best interests of the patient. Whether you utilized our services on your own or your primary care veterinarian referred your pet to us, you are an important part of this symbolic triangle.
Annual health check-ups are the best proactive tool to preventive care and early detection of medical conditions. If serious conditions arise, or are suspected, the partnership between your primary care veternarian and VSCNL ensures your pet will receive the most complete care available while remaining in province.
We understand seeing a new doctor is stressful for both you and your pet. Some health conditions may be difficult to diagnose, involve several causes, require long-term management, or not have a cure. We will do everything we can to help provide the best possible outcome.
As partners in your pet’s care, you can expect us to listen and respond to your fears and concerns, be honest so you can make educated decisions, and provide recommendations and care based on best practices and standards.
As partners in your pet’s care, we expect you to ask questions, provide feedback, and work with us with patience and understanding. Our staff have families, pets, and feelings too and should be treated with respect and dignity.
Talk to your primary care veterinarian if you want to seek another opinion or referral.
